I'm Still Here!

Still working on the old Substack.

You read that right, I’m still here and writing about Ophelia, I just haven’t updated Ye Old Substack in a bit. But I was still writing about Ophelia! I was participating in NaNoWriMo in November and knew I wouldn’t have time to prepare for much then, and while I could have in October, I did start a new job at the beginning of that month. So I think I’m allowed a little slack!

And my NaNoWriMo was related to Ophelia. I was rewriting a novel I’m working on, one that each time seems like it will take me longer to complete. This isn’t a bad thing of course, part of the reason this Substack exists is to figure out what I’m doing with this story. I was writing about Ophelia, about grief and performance, so even though I can’t share anything on here about it I can tell you that I finished the month with 83001 words.

I know, I wasn’t expecting that either. The goal of NaNoWriMo is to write 50000 words, so this was way over what I usually do which is good. Still not at publishing level yet, but each day we get closer.

So expect some more activity on this Substack, or some more in the New Year as I get back into research mode. And sorry again for the dust!
