I disagree Glenn. Children have a need for a loving parent, whether that is a single mother or father, two mom's, two dad's, two non binary parents, two queer parents, etc. A child needs love, and I am lucky to have had and continue having that.
All children come to the age when they understand human reproduction. Those who lose a parent through death, divorce, adoption, etc. inevitably must work through their loss. There is no question that many do experience deep thoughts and feelings of abandonment.
Your post speaks one truth about mothers and fathers which cannot be hidden. That is, that all children have deep need for both a mom and a dad.
